Peter Bjorn & John - Is This It (The Strokes Cover)

Stereogum lanzaba hoy un recopilatorio tributo a "Is This It" de The Strokes- se cumplen ¡10 años! de su salida el próximo sábado-


y que abre con una brillante versión del tema homónimo por Peter Bjorn & John que puedes descargar aquí.

Así pues los suecos se merecen una segunda oportunidad. Lejos de estancarse y tirar por la vía fácil que "Young Folks" les había propiciado, los de Estocolmo se fueron por los cerros de Úbeda y abrieron camino a la experimentación, primero con un misterioso disco instrumental, para continuar con "Living Thing" (Wichita, 2009), más convencional y que conservaba la esencia pop característica de la banda.
A principios de año sacaban un "Gimme some" (Cooking Vynil) que me pareció más díficil de digerir de la cuenta y se quedó en una de esas listas interminables de discos a escuchar... hasta hoy. Segunda oportunidad:

Stereogum has released today a tribute to The Strokes' "Is This It" - it'll be 10 years since its release next Saturday -. The album starts with a brilliant cover by the Swedes of the eponymous song available for download here.
So Peter Bjorn & John deserve a second chance. Far from getting stuck and live out the "Young Folks", the lads from Stockholm opened up their minds and experimented in their following efforts. First up a creepy instrumental album, followed by a far more conventional one -"Living Thing" (Wichita, 2009) - that kept the pop essence of the band.
"Gimme some" (Cooking Vynil) released in the beginning of the year, was apparently not so easy to listen to and remained forgotten on one of those neverending lists of records to listen to... until today. Second Chance.
