Post-Blog

A long time since I didn't post anything.
After going to Razzmatazz with David and watch Ratatat playing really good and doing power moves all over scenario, I've seen David post and wanted to say something new.
First question you may ask is "Why this title?". It's not that this blog is going to finish or whatever, it's just that I want to talk about Post-Rock (most of them intrumental) bands that lately I'm listening to.

Well there are some that for sure you already know such as, most praised Sigur Rós or the well known Explosions in the sky (I love their music.), but I want to focus on other bands that are almost unknown and that are doing a really good job.

First of them are This will destroy you , they just come out with their first album after 1 E.P. and I already want to see them in live. They sound some how like Explosions but more atmospheric halo, while Explosions always gives you an impression of hope This will destroy you gives more impression of sadness.

Second is one of the bands I met while using last.fm (flying spaghetti monster bless them), they are from sweden and are called Pg.Lost. They just come out with their first Album as well and they are less sad than most of the post-rock band and somehow happier (if someone expects to listen something happy, forget it, it's just that they don't show desperation feeling that other post-rock bands shows.

I think that those 2 will be enough for now since I wrote it loger I expect.
Anyway I will give you one song of the week: Motorhead - Ace of Spades (long live rock & roll and gambling)

The Ting Tings - That's not my name

Long names

A problem with names with 8 characters and, in particular, two complicated r's, is that they can be easily misspelled or mispronounced. For example: Bernado or Benardo... how awful, that's not my name

What's the point ? What's the point ? What's the point ?

yeah! holidays! Time is running so fast since I came back here, so it can't be so terrible. You can't imagine how hot was in here when I just came back a couple of weeks ago...
It's hard to be here again, you know... all these differences do not make me look on the bright side: e.g. living in the dirty loud suburbs with your family is not the same than living in almost the center of Stockholm with lot of friends separated by just one door, floor,... I can't have the same life I had there nor before, even though it seems nothing has changed at all in half a year. It is this hate-love feeling again. I trust in Crocoman for a change.
I had time to finish my new essential mix, and update myspace just a little bit. New dates (surprising ones.. you will see..) and mixes coming up as usual!
Song of the weekend - The Young Knives - Up all night
So, I will choose this tune, for some of you will sound like a same old same old... yeah probably, maybe that describes a lot. Heard it on thursday on the beloved-hated Razzmatazz, where we could also see american fellows Ratatat, performing their tracks. I loved the guitar player devotion turning her body backwards and looking at the sky during the riffs. For some moments I felt like I was in a heavy metal concert... :) Cut Copy were spinning in another room, not the best place for them...
Ok! So hope you had a good time! Keep on posting please! Don't let this die!
Lots of love

David

Back to LIFE

My absence has not been in vain... i've been accumulating wisdom for my posts, hope you've been doing the same, huh? ;). I have been resting and i feel good!
Tomorrow is my birthday, and this post is my present. First of all, thanks to jose (spanish glory)
for his first post and congrats! i wonder what's next

Since they are going to release an album soon, i'd like to dedicate today's song to Kings of Leon.
Great rock (of course) with a peculiar voice. I really like their album Aha Shake Heartbreak, check it out guys, worth it.

And for dessert, smth a bit harder, but still good, Coheed and Cambria.

Gossip: our friend and child-rapist MJ is also about to release an album!! Tremble kids! haha

Don't let this die boys! gotta go!
