Time now for Barcelona's International Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art (18-20 June), an arty both neverending name for what is commonly known as Sónar, probably the best electronic music festival in Europe.
A couple of weeks ago the festival was officially presented with the confirmation of Animal Collective, a surprise, but not so much after delivering a new album very influenced by electronic music. The eclecticism is present on the line-up of the festival where we find the legen-dary Orbital and the muse Grace Jones, mutant English hip-hoppers Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Moderat (Apparat + Modeselektor) from Berlin, 2008 winners as Crookers, Crystal Castles and Late of The Pier, guerrilheiros Buraka Som Sistema, English electro-rock dj messiah Erol Alkan, the next big thing La Roux, and for the 3rd year in a row the Ed Banger stage with the delicious Breakbot, SebastiAn and the boss,... And that is just a summary of the still incomplete line-up! Check it out!
The festival is divided in two parts: Sónar de Dia (Daytime Sonar), a chance to enjoy outdoor performances, enlarge your agenda, and a perfect choice for those who like to say that they were on the festival. And Sónar de Nit (Sónar at night) that brings the biggest performances and definitely the place to be!
Tickets are available for the three days of the festival: a 3-Day Ticket for 140€ that allows you to go to all the performances or single day tickets for Sonar Day (30€ per day) and Sonar Night (48€ per night).
