Jinder Bueno

Jinder - Youth Blood. Been cracking my mind up looking for a video for this song these last weeks, but it just didn't come up yet, so here you are. Imagine Ladyhawke mixed up with Lykke Li. A tune that might also have perfectly fit in any of the latest Swedish-vampire films released during this year. Essential!

Also Swedish website r.fm have revealed their lists of the best of 2009 and reminded us this gem by Air. It's like playing Sonic the Hedgehog on LSD!

Indie Karaoke

Although "Everyday" from Vetiver was officially released on the last year's celebrated album "Tight Knit", the video didn't get a release until March of 2009. Karaoke videos have always been low budget, ugly, shabby and silly, something that it really works in this almost perfect song: opposite poles (at least at the beginning) attract.

Indie or alternative karaoke scenes are also used with good results in films such Lost in Translation and (500) days of summer - featuring Zooey Deschanel (She & Him)-, same as your local karaoke? No, ours have Chinese food and a waiter-singer singing Mandarin pop songs...

Relax your mouth and yawn...

Been saving this for a while. I just wanted to put it in a new mix for the "surprise effect" cause I think it's worth the listen, another addition for our list of the best videos of 2009.

By the way I'm not the singer..

Kinetic Stereokids - Twisted Thoughts (video link)

I don't want seeds in my cherry

Röyksopp - Happy Up Here

You know i really like it!

In one of those crazy fine Razzmatazz nights, my friend Christian dared to say this is the best song ever... Pure bliss, it's got pretty much everything: the ups and downs, the punch and melody, the man and the robot... you know it makes me happy! The video's got lights and music, graphics and 8 bit references, definitely a Fresh Stuff favorite!

Lenny Kravitz - Let love rule (Justice Remix)

The Midas Touch.
It's been some time since every little thing that Justice touches becomes gold and COOL. Take this one for
example: Lenny Kravitz the almost retired afro guitar player. His new song is not remarkable at all and he's been clearly in decadence for some time...

Now he's back in business, thanks to these f* Parisian. But what it makes this song special this time is the videoclip by mister Keith Scofield. I can see it like the perfect ending for an 80's action movie starring Kelly Kapowsky and Marty McFly. Another video favorite for 2009!

Air France - No excuses

Goosebumps.

This is my favourite video of 2009. No doubt. I don't know how many times I watched it.

"Paradise is no fantasy, no stupid escape: It's here and now, ready to be seized. No excuses."

Marc Hogan, Pitchfork.

Watch it HERE, for a better quality.

Developing also in music...

From Holland with love here i'm back...

Lately i've been very reflective about a lot of things and surely i'm more and more aware of how the third world isn't third anymore..

well to put it in an easier way..i found also something interesting from what is now to be said the "developing" world.

After the dirtier sounds of almost srilankian M.I.A. and Buraka som sistema that i personally love..

And now for something completely different..from Malawi with style..

The Very Best

pumping some collaborations with MIA, Vampire weekend, Architecture in Helsinki and soon Crookers too..

The Very Best feat Ezra Koenig - Warm heart of Africa

An indie African mix...interesting experiments..

Passion Pit - The Reeling

'Look at me, oh look at me, is this the way i've always been, oh no oh no'

Gnarls Barkley - Who's gonna save my soul?

The Flaming Lips - I can be a frog (feat. Karen O)

Bye-bye 2009!

Since the Year 2009 is going to pack its bags soon, we should have a fast look at what we've gained this year! So here it comes- BEST VIDEOS OF 2009!

I must say that i have quite many videos on my mind that deserve to be mentioned... so as today is sleepy-sleepy Sunday i decided to choose a video that is : CHEAP, EFFECTIVE and as much as BEAUTIFUL.. And i can't believe that in year 2009 The Flaming Lips are still going to surprise me..!! Thanks guys ( i can be a frog as well if you want!! )

Connections

I need some kind of club-detox; preparing the session for tuesday and some nights out in a row are making me feel a bit sick. Hopefully we've got the perfect placebo for it this weekend. Sintonitzza is a free indie music festival that happens every year here and brings us some of the most important national bands, having this year the omnipresent Delorean, 2008 sensation Elastic Band or Half Foot Outside. But that doesn't end up there! On Sunday we'll also have The Pinker Tones!

I will leave you with some more guitars this time. Looking for info about this song (included in summer's "A pleasant dream" compilation) I found it in another blog that posted the same video I did last time. Who cares, they both rock...

Pets - Don't you say your heart's broken (video)

The XX - Basic Space

Hemos estado más de 2 meses fuera, tiempo suficiente para recuperarnos, tener entrañables encuentros con esfuerzo o diversión, el resultado es el mismo. Agua por fuera o por dentro, el momento se merece el hedor...

Accumulation

Yes, it happens so many times. You're bored for a while. Then you fancy doing something and magically, plans and things to do appear from nowhere.
I wanted to mention the new single release "Deli" by Delorean. Let's call them the Spanish "X-Wife, a band with really good reputation, probably better abroad, that came out just after the boom of bands such as The Rapture or Radio 4...
But while I was looking for a video of it I found this on vimeo. Birdy Nam Nam, 4 French turntablists making music. The album is however a blend of electro styles, from the new to the old. By the way, this track is produced by.. guess who? † Justice †

Music on the TV

I guess we didn't miss too much not watching Eurovision last weekend... Spain's song which was supposed to be one of the favourite songs finally ended up the last one. It sounds like football. Remember last year's? that was class!

Here we've got school of rock, idols, some decent music in arty programs, nostalgic shows, etc but nothing like before. I mean it's been some time since I miss that kind of program where you could watch new videos, save them into your VHS tape and comment with your friends how hot Jennifer Lopez was.

Let's play videogames again!
